Mrs. Velma Ricketts-Walker is the Chief Executive Officer/Commissioner of Customs at the Jamacia Customs Agency. She has over 25 years of experience in Customs Administration, Trade Facilitation, Risk Analysis, Strategic Planning, International Trade, Security, Compliance and Enforcement.
Mrs. Ricketts-Walker has contributed significantly to regional customs administrations, where as a Revenue Administration Advisor to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), she assisted regional customs administrations with the development and strengthening of their risk management programmes and organizational strategic reform. She is dedicated to improving Jamaica’s image in the ease of doing business, logistics and competitive performance. Mrs. Ricketts-Walker currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA) and holds the position of Chairperson for the World Customs Organization’s Capacity Building Committee.
