— Overview
Professor Gordon Shirley served as Chairman of the Port Authority’s Board from November 2013 to April 2016. He was the Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies (UWI) from August 2007 to August 2013 and previously served as Executive Chairman of the Jamaica Public Service Company Limited.
In 2001, Professor Shirley was seconded to the Government of Jamaica as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS).
Professor Shirley is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine with a BSc in Engineering. He also holds an MBA in Operations and Finance and Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard University.
He served on several public and private sector boards and committees in Jamaica, USA and Canada. He currently serves as Chairman of GraceKennedy & Co. Ltd., the Police Service Commission and Clarendon Alumina Production Limited.
